Summer Holiday Preparations, You Need to Know...

After finishing uni me and the girls decided it was time to get some sun in our live, after all we deserved it by surviving dissertation! So of course holiday beauty preparations needed to be conducted!

Exfoliate
To make sure an even tan is achieved (both from natural and from a bottle) exfoliation is key to creating the perfect sunkissed looks. Exfoliating allows for dead skin cells to be be removed, allowing for softer skin to develop and leaving you less prone to burning (as it is only dead skin cells which burn). I highly recommend Gok Wan's shower scrub, although the product is only available in most Boots stores at Christmas. Another favorite is Superdrugs Tea Tree exfoliating scrub, the product smells so fresh and allows for a soft skin to develop after exfoliation occurs. For the price of £3.29 this scrub is an absolute bargain!

Moisturising

Moisturising is essential after exfoliation, as it allows for some damaged skin cells (this may occur after scrubbing too hard on one particular area.  One of my favorites is Nivea's pure and natural body milk, the moisturiser comes in several different variations, my favorite is the Bio Argan oil and Jojoba oil, which allows for a fresh scent to be created an skin to be left feeling fresh. Another cheap product which only cost £3.59 and is available at most Superdrug stores.


Shaving
Even one knows looking like king kongs little sister is Into a good look on any beach... EVER! So shaving is a must for anyone (yes even if your not going away) one of my favorite razors to use is Venus and Olay's sugarberry razor, being on sale within Superdrug with the amazing price of £5.48 (in most other stores it would usually cost £10.99). The pivoting head allows for all hairs to be shaven evenly, the Olay moisturiser placed around the blade keeps skin soft, almost acting like a balm to protect skin. In all honesty this is one of the best products i have ever used!

Nails
Before going on holiday i was determined to find some nail wraps, with some beautiful pattern which would make me feel like a golden goddess even if it was raining. Finding Revlons, Python nail wrap  in gold and brown was did just that. Taking JUST 10 minutes to apply (with a break cause constant filing of the wraps hurt my hand!), by cutting the nail wrap close to the nail allows for less time to for filling due to the lack of excess. The pattern was beautiful and would suit any formal occasion, however a combination of the sea, sun and swimming made the nail wraps peel of within three days of application. Saying this i would recommend sticking to nail varnish so the pattern and colour would last the duration of the holiday.

All these little tips have helped me to feel slightly more comfortable when showing skin abroad. And i hope they do the same for you.
