I am obsessed with all things mermaid, from The Little Mermaid to Barry M's Aquaurium collection!

The obsession is only helped with the hundreds of metallic trends through out the high street. From cosmetics to shoes so here's a few of may favourites, with the occasional Disney quote...

I have to be honest i absolutely love metallic courts! They make a simple outfit look amazing, with so many of variations i have picked my top 3!

Perfect pair of comfy going out heels, will make an addition all outfits. The perfect pairs of glittery sandals, the platform it allows for comfort and support for all occasions.

Personally, i would wear them with a pastel Cami, some casual jeans and a massive bag! Perfect for those relaxed date nights!

2, Topshop ROLO Skinny High Sandal
these heels are so pretty! Perfect for a summer wedding (inside, grass and heels do not mix). Pair with an utterly fabulous white pencil skirt and your on a winner!

One of the only issues with skinny heels is they tend to hurt your ankles i suggest getting a festival or a night out kit from Prezzie Box. For only £9.95, you have all your night out essentials to protect you tiny toes!

These are my favourite things since Ariel's fin! The shoes themselves will compliment any outfit, the not so subtle shimmer allows for any outfit to be made in to a classic on trend statement.

With the heel being a reasonable height, everyone can walk in these beauties (with a bit of assistant). I would definitely loose my voice for a pair of the stunning shoes!

You're not the only one...

Like most girls I've been on every diet imaginable, lost weight and put it back on. Recently times have been tough, so I've comfort ate. This blog isn't about shaming myself or others around me, its about my growth as a person and the people around me.

I'm not ashamed to admit that my life hasn't been easy, but whose has! Since i was a young girl I've always been 'the big girl' or 'fat lass', by people who at the time i held a high level of importance to me. Being called this most days of my life was only helped by pictures of me with my 'skinny' friends, i slowly started listening to that little voice in my head that kept telling me i wasn't good enough. The more i listened to that little  voice, the more i thought i couldn't contribute to anything or anyone. If only i would've stopped at that.

Over the years i became so depressed my weight spiralled out of control, with every diet came another binge, another pound gained. And that little voice was winning. At some point in this never ending circle i got into my chosen university (i couldn't believe they wanted me) so that little voice got a little quieter, getting down to a size 12/14 in my first year. Then the death of my grandad, who looking back was more of a dad to me sent me spiralling back to the comfort eating cycle. A cycle that didn't stop until very, very recently.

Until i decided not to listen to that voice any more. I began blogging, sure I'm not very good at it, not many people listen to what i have to say but it gave me the voice i needed. I'm still that 'fat lass' but in who's eyes? Not mine.

Until i realised that you have to take the good with the bad, follow your gut and make the life changing mistakes you learn from. If you're going through a similar situation you are not the only one, you will get through it. You can, taking each day as it comes, one foot in front of the other and all the other cliches in the world. Things will get better.

I now have most amazing support network in friends and very close family, not only that i have a passion for life again. I may not be a size 0. I may not have the best job. I may not have travelled the world. For the first time in years i feel like some one who matters, i hope you do too.

Tweeze, Please!

Hello, hello, hello.

So it recently occurred to me how difficult plucking your own eye brows was. In some cases of extreme hairy-ness terrifying. Although I'm going to give you my top 3 tips on creating the perfect at home brows.

1.  Good Lighting.
Using a room with a lot of good lighting will allow you to see all those pesky hairs you miss normally. Natural lighting is the best due to the definition it gives to the contours of your face, alternatively use a room or area with a light surrounding (usually it gives similar effect).

2. Pluck after showering.
This should probably be the first but plucking your eye brows after showering opens the pours making it easier to tweeze hair.

3.Follow the natural line of the brow.
Don't follow trends, create your own individuality. Make up shouldn't be about being your favourite celebrity, it should allow you to be confident within your self. Using the natural line of your own brow will allow you to ensure your shape suits your face. Tweeze to tidy not to transform...

Bootea booty!

Hello everyone!

Super Cute Make up bag!

Its Friday!!!

So i thought I'd treat myself to a new makeup bag!

This super cute Zoella makeup bag (around £8 from Super drug) is the ideal way to keep your make up safe and clean. I do tend to go through a lot of make up bags because of one cosmetics explosion or another, so the waterproof covering allows for any unruly cosmetics to be cleaned easily with some soapy water. Choosing the cute design because the polka dots were just so cute! Its definitely one of my summer must haves!

Because we all need some help saying yes to those shoes right?

No7 heaven.

We all love a bargain, the one thing however I don't recommend finding in a bargain is foundation. The are some amazing foundations on the market, but there's also some not so good.

My recent find is No7 Stay perfect, yes it is a little pricey but it really is worth it.

Why is it worth it ?

Well...

• It has SPF,yes i may live in England but SPF is still needed to protect your skin form UV rays.
• You can wear it for 24 hours, you wont but you can.
• Lastly its hypo-allergenic, so its kind to your skin !

Since wearing this foundation I have found my skin is softer and its not as dry. Using make up daily can make my skin feel and look dull. With No7 Stay perfect it hasn't; its a definite 10/10.

Brush must have!

So I've always been a little tight fisted when it comes to make up brushes. I know, its bad but I never understood why which brush was used for different things. Until now that is.

Having been recommended by a friend I bought a realTechniques brush set. Having been a little upset with parting with £23.99 (super drug) for three brushes, I was dubious to say the least. After getting the brushes I watch the Samantha Chapman YouTube video displaying how to use the different brushes in accordance with different products. So, finally I gave them a try...

And I'm so glad I did, the duo fibre face brush is perfect for applying my foundation. The light bristles allow foundation to blend easily without any patches. The brush is nice and light and doesn't feel clogged after a few uses, like the previous brushes I used. The other brushes in the set the duo fibre eye brush and contour brush and I have to say I love them both ! Both allow for easy application due to the soft fibre brush.

Em's Tips:
Make sure you clean your brushes when possible to ensure that brushes don't become stiff.

Barry M Brilliance

I know I've been a very bad blogger but i have found the most amazing nail varnish.

Barry M has now created the easiest nail varnish to use, its smooth application is due to the extended brush (meaning one sweep and its done!). It really does dry quickly with no dips, scratches or smudges. I don't use top coat so the majority of nail varnishes i use tend to lose their shine, this product shine however, stayed until my nails were chipped, grubby and barely there.

The colours are subtle and seasonal, the pastel palette allows for the most amazing summer look. Soft enough for the most daring summer outfit! Find Barry M Speedy Quick Dry in most good stores for around £3.99 (bargain i know!).

Barry M's Summer lovin'

Hello again!

So recently I lost my job in Admin and now unfortunately can't afford my normal Naked Palette, so i began to think about the variety of more pocket friendly alternatives. And I have to say I think I've found one!

Barry M Natural Glow palette is perfect! The oatmeal base colour is perfect for blending on a most pale skin tones. Having a great overall base tone allows for the perfect natural smokey eye or if your wanting a more subtle summer look use the the oatmeal base with the soft shimmer pink (the first on the palette. The palette gives you several options to play around with, offering a day to night or if your lucky a night to day look! In my opinion its a must for all make up bags, this cost effective product may be small, with limited shade but it offers a wide variety of lucks. Do you really use those metallic navy shades ? No? Then maybe this palette is for you.

My only issue with this palette is the eye shadows don't have any names or numbers, which makes blogging harder than necessary (annoying). So please bare with me for the bloggers tips, although it is a bargain at £6.50 (being sold in most stores such as boots and super drug)

Em's Tip...

For a natural day time smokey eye use the oatmeal base to cover the lid.
Once covered use the use the darker shades to blend. My favourites are the two colour at the end of the palette.
Use the brown metallic colour to extenuate your crease lightly at first, then once the line is established pat the eyeshadow into the crease to make the look a little more intense.
Remember these are natural colours so it wont be a highly dramatic effect. Finishing off the look is easy use the last colour on the palette (metallic black) to lightly pat into the outer corner of your eye, use a blending brush to spread the colour out so the look won't look patchy. Finally pat a small dot of white eyeshadow  into the corner of your eye making your eye appear brighter.
